Amongst the many branches I ran through the chipper last month, I found one that I set aside. It was the perfect shape my my hand and a good length to become a handle for something.
After the jichinsai, the bamboo altar was dismantled and tossed on the burn pile. Before burning, I took a few minutes to trim off all the small branches and set them aside.
And then I put the branch and the bamboo together into a broom. I didn’t read how to do it or watch any YouTube videos so it’s not a very good broom, but it works and it’s kinda cute.
Sometime, I will get around to improving it with a fuller brush and better lacing, but for now, I feel like this witch has her broom.
