In the paper

As Tod, Zan, and I were leaving the “refugee room” at City Hall, a reporter from the Asahi Shimbun introduced himself. He was working on collecting stories from foreign residents affected by the typhoon.

He was very interested (of course) in Zan’s damaged house and after talking with us for half an hour or so, came out to take pictures. The article above appeared in the paper a couple of days later. And a couple of days after that, an English translation appeared.

It is interesting to note that in the original Japanese, the foreigners interviewed are made to seem sort of hapless. In the English version, they are less so.
