


The two-meter tall ginger is in full bloom outside the kitchen window. Its scent is intoxicating. Hummingbird hawk-moths visit at dawn and dusk to enjoy the nectar.
After a long break for summer, Beryl is enjoying her favorite cozy beanbag in the barn. She’s also crawling under the bed covers to sit on me in the early morning.
Persimmon leaves are showing off their fine colors and polka dot patterns, falling to the ground for collection and admiration. Soon the tree branches will be bare except for their orange fruits.
While visiting with Lawrence today, I spied these jumbo sized mushrooms along a freshly cut field. Edible? I don’t know. I left them for the fairies.
