Camera Roll

Summer has flown by in a haze of herniated disc pain and heat exhaustion, both of which are finally subsiding. Despite being housebound for most of two months, I captured some of the beauty in my world. Let me share it with you via all the Instagram Stories I’ve posted.

Starting to look like autumn, though it is still too hot.
We cleaned the house during Typhoon 15. My studio is immaculate!
I almost mowed the Murder Hornets. Also, finished the Kamata painting and got a haircut.
Always interleaving work and play.
I know my back is feeling better because I am trying to clean up the garden.
The heat and herniated discs kept me from sleeping, so I made the most of it.
On the anniversary of Mom’s death, the grocery bill equalled the grocery points. Ooooh.
After the Kozuka Art Festival, I worked hard to get the Ending Note published.
After weeks of prep, I only had one day of the Kozuka Art Festival, but it went well.
Our first time going to Kamogawa’s beach fireworks.
The only cool part of the day was the night.
I visited the art festival before my scheduled days to see if my back would let me walk up the hill.
Cats had a rough summer, too.
Every day I tried to garden forced me into bed the next day. Backs are cruel.
A very early typhoon – this plus another in August would be all of the summer’s rain.
My back did not respond well. I ended my yoga class.
Too hot to think, but we still ate well!
These four photos neatly summarise the whole season: cats, “work”, food, weather.
