Ceiling-ish

Up in the attic this week, Sasaki-san’s putting down the plywood sheets for the floor which also give us the effect of ceilings downstairs. Now it feels like we have rooms, even if they lack walls for now.

Living room ceiling, step 1.

It’s slow work; each column is slotted along the bottom to accommodate the plywood board before it is secured to the joists. Plus, Sasaki-san’s been laboring alone most of this week and on Friday and Saturday he is working on another project. He is busy multitasking between two house projects, teaching a DIY course, running his business, and of course his own personal life. I am always impressed by his energy and commitment.
