Autumn magic

The chrysanthemums from last year are blooming. Lots of childhood memories tied to mums; our neighbors, the McFaddises, grew them for market.

We took a walk this afternoon along the suisen walking path. It’s been pretty well ruined by the typhoons, but at the top of the hill is a field of wild asters and a view towards the bay.

On the way back down the hill, while struggling over and under fallen trees and bamboo, I spied a magical bird’s nest made of wild boar hair. I carried it down the hill and left it amid the ferns.

And at the end of the walk I had an ice cream. Happy Saturday!
