I have never seen such tiny and determined beings. They came out one at a time, with very little fuss from Three. She licked their cauls off and they went right to work suckling. It is so different than her last experience – these little ones were definitely healthy and ready to be born.
Maura is orange and white and is named for my school friend who was also born on April 2. I hope Maura turns out to be a girl.
Futatsuyama was born next and climbed right up Three’s side, so he is named after a local mountain.
#3 Calico is a girl, for sure (99% of calico cats are female). She easy to tell apart from the others! I think she will end up with a different name before too long.
And last was Fritter, another orange baby. Tod said he looked like a corn fritter as he popped out, and so there was his name.
