Meanwhile, at home

I am tearing the house apart to undo 8 years of accumulated clutter.

Even though I regularly declutter, this is an opportunity to assess every single thing I own. And it is a chance for me to bring Tod into the process for our shared things and hopefully reduce them.

It is tedious.

The deciding process is challenging. I have tried to streamline into four outcomes, but so many things are edge cases.

For example, I came across a cup full of markers that has been in a closet for a loooong time. Either I can set a deadline to use the pens (which might also mean putting them in a place where they are more accessible) or I can “Donate, Sell, or Dump.”

To complicate things, though, there were two USB memory sticks in the bottom of the cup. I haven’t used them, either, but I don’t know what’s on them. I need to set a deadline to check them.

My calendar is going to become a long list of clutter deadlines. Or I am going to simply dump everything and live lighter.
