Things I want to do at 555

  • Build a patio on the east side with barbecue, seating, and stage space
  • Host music and theatre on that outdoor stage by the barn
  • Create education/events/retreats in collab with friends – yoga, music, art
  • Play in the garden and grounds daily
  • Learn all the seasons and uses of all the wild plants
  • Catalog nature with drawing, photographs, and stories
  • Plant trees: maple, onigurumi, willow, lemon, apricot…
  • Plant shrubs in Tire Town: daphne, tea camellias…
  • Grow food: tea, turmeric, garlic, peppers, herbs…
  • Renovate the barn into a colorful, casual place full of art and wonder
  • Host houseguests from the city
  • Host artists & technologists for working retreats
  • Turn the tractorport into an workshop/art studio
  • Gather plants to make baskets and other fiber work
  • Stain the entire house with kakishibu
  • Remove the fishing shed and shipping containers
  • Build a tall deck for viewing the sunset
  • Put in a carport/garage for Tod (under the deck)
  • Create a sculpture to shade the fishpond and give it a new cover
  • Add kinetic & sound sculptures to the space
  • Plant the front garden with perennials, flowers, and trees
  • Build stairs down to the blueberry road
  • Get rid of the vines clogging the trees
  • Weed a little bit every day
  • Have lunches in the shade of the trees
  • Enjoy cocktails on the stone stairs
  • Relax in the hammock
  • Create a beautiful surrounding for the little shrine
  • Gather friends for cooking & eating
  • Host festive occasions and feasts
  • Find ways to invite the neighbors and community to the space
  • Sleep soundly in a calm, comfortable room
  • Use the loft as a yoga studio for my ongoing morning yoga classes
  • Write a book (or two) at my desk upstairs
  • Map the property in multiple ways: trees, topography, uses…
  • Write songs and sing them to the cats
  • Paint and draw inspired by my surroundings

This is an ongoing list. I will never really run out of things to do here.
