Maura turned 4 on April 2nd. He’s my big sweet lap cat. His routine is everything: my lap first thing in the morning; a patrol around the area in the afternoon; more lap time if at all possible; and cuddles at night as long as Beryl isn’t in the bed. He loves me and Tod but nobody else; any hint of strangers and he is off to his safest hidey hole on the far side of the solar farm.
Beryl approaches her first year with us, and probably had her first birthday at the beginning of the year. Her purrs are loud and rumbly. She asks to sleep under the covers with me, or rests curled up on a cushion with Fritter. She is always hungry and is an avid chaser of frogs. She has introduced play into the house – with frogs, carpet-skewing zoomies, and play-fighting Fritter. She is feisty and loving.
Fritter also turned 4 on April 2nd. He is still a laid-back goofball, always eager for a snack and vocal with requests. But with only three legs to support his weight, he is not allowed to get chonk and he has to share snacks his with everyone else. He dislikes being held but will crawl onto my lap or under the covers. We usually watch TV together in the evenings.
