Roof edges

Today was the final design meeting for the roof sheeting. All the details were ironed out and questions answered with examples in 1:1 scale. Every edge, nook, corner, and exposed part was reviewed and agreed.

The galvalume arrived at the end of last week – two thin stacks. It looks like there is almost nothing there, but it’s enough to cover the whole roof. The sheets are unusually long, so we won’t have any horizontal seams.

The bankinya-san brings his team on Friday and Saturday to install it. I am excited to see my metal roof gleaming in the sun.

I like this shade of silver very much. Speckles diffuse the light and reflect the color around it.
