Nama-con #2

Today the rest of the slab was poured. It went in over rebar that had been built over the course of the week. Frames on the side hold it in place until it dries.

The rebar crew was quick and efficient.
This is where the gas lines will enter the kitchen.

Each stage of the process makes the house feel more real – literally concrete instead of an abstraction.

In addition to concrete, an interesting object was waiting for me in the TractorPort. This is a 1:1 scale model of the roof structure.

Do you like my choice of roofing? silver, wide-wave galvanium. Our house profile is ALL roof; it’s going to be stunning with this light and shadow and shine. If you know Hangar eight you may recognise it; my roof will be the same as the siding there. 🙂
